Company History

Morehead Pools has been serving the swimming pool needs of the Ark-La-Tex areas for more than 50 years. Morehead Pools opened its Shreveport, La. store at 6511 Line Ave. in the 1960’s. The Moore family took over in the 1970’s. Under Harold and Margaret Moore, the business began to thrive, and in 1988, they moved to their current location at 7120 Line Ave.

In 2000, the torch was passed to Mike and Monica Moore, Harold and Margaret’s son and daughter-in-law. Continuing a legacy of excellence, a new retail store was opened in Bossier City, La. at 2003 at 2126 Benton Road. Not long after, Mike and Monica’s children, Michael Moore and Michelle Bond joined the team.

Under Mike’s leadership from 2000 to 2015, Morehead Pools grew to be one of the premier pool builders in the nation, regularly being featured as one of the nation’s Top 50 Builders. Mike passed away in February of 2015.

Today, Monica serves as the Chairman of the Board and Michael has taken the reins as President & CEO. Michael’s wife, Becky, is the Retail Manager of the Shreveport location, while Michelle is the Vice President.

Morehead Pools continues to be a deep-rooted family business as committed to excellence as the generations before, and serves as the only swimming pool company in our area that has both an APSP Certified Building Professional and Certified Service Professional on staff.

Morehead Pools is a member of the Master Pools Guild, a prestigious network of the finest pool builders in the world. Also, Morehead Pools is a member of the PACE group in Scottsdale, Az. PACE is a “think tank” of the nation’s most high tech and progressive pool builders. Membership in either of these highly respected groups is by invitation only. In the summer of 2015, Morehead Pools was ranked 11th pool builder in the country by Pool and Spa News.
